The student who did these two audio recordings below was 11 and a half at that time. I was very moved by his nuanced sensitivity and poetic playing of Debussy and Helen Hopekirk, and his musical realisation of the pieces
Spotlight on Sonatas
Repertoire performed by students at the end-of-year recital in Dec 2022,
with a strong emphasis on composers from the first Viennese school.
"Bachaholics"
Excerpts from the internal studio performance class in March 2023 and lessons in April 2023, where students present their work-in-progress and listen to each other: a variety of different keyboard pieces by J.S Bach: Inventions, Little Preludes, and Preludes and Fugues from the Well-Tempered Clavier. Congratulations to one of our beginner students too, who was awarded second prize in the Baroque edition of the 2023 Charleston International Music Competition and was also one of the top 10 winners of the Henle Verlag 2023 Piano Competition in the age 6-7 year old category.
